On this week's episode of the Blue View, National President Patrick Yoes sat
down with Mark Kollar, Special Agent Supervisor with the Ohio Bureau of
Criminal Investigation, to discuss the way in which investigations of officer-
involved shootings are conducted and how critically important it is to both
law enforcement and the communities we serve to do it the right way.
National President Patrick Yoes gave numerous media interviews regarding
law enforcement line-of-duty deaths and the increase of violence towards law
enforcement officers across the country. 
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with U.S. Homeland Security Secretary
Alejandro N. Mayorkas regarding recent incidents involving firearm violence
and concerns over domestic terrorism.

Executive Director Jim Pasco responded to numerous media inquiries

regarding firearms violence and potential legislation addressing the issue, as

well as the President’s recent Executive Order, general criminal justice reform

and the nationwide increase in violent crime.

Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson participated in a conference call

with stakeholders and staff in the offices of Senators L. Tammy Duckworth

(D-IL), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Jon Cornyn III (R-TX) regarding S.

3635, the “Public Safety Officer Support.”

Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson met with new Senate Judiciary

Committee staff in the office of Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-IA).

THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Raise the lawful age to purchase a “semiautomatic centerfire rifle” from

18 to 21;

Ban high-capacity magazines;

Increase penalties for gun trafficking and straw purchases;

Create new criminal penalties for failure to safely store firearms;

Outlaw bump stocks; and

Outlaw "ghost guns."

The House Committee on the Judiciary held a Markup on H.R. 7910, the

"Protecting Our Kids Act." This legislation, which was favorably reported by

the committee, would:

enforcement officer" for salary and retirement benefits to include all Federal law
enforcement officers.
The “Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act” would recognize the

The “Social Security Fairness Act” would repeal both the "Windfall Elimination
Provision" and the "Government Pension Offset" in current Social Security law.

The "LEOSA Reform Act" would amend the Law Enforcement Officers' Safety Act
(LEOSA), exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from
local and State prohibitions on the carriage of concealed firearms, to ensure that
these officers are able to carry in the same venues as civilian concealed carry
permit holders in areas like schools and national parks, as well as use public
transportation and extends the exemption to magazine capacity and would allow
active and retired law enforcement officers to access services at U.S. post
offices, Social Security Administration offices or Veterans Affairs facilities.
