Vilsack tobe Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Agriculture on a 92-7 vote.The Senate voted to confirm the nomination of Jennifer M. Granholmto be Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Energy on a 65-35 vote.The Senate Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing to considerthe nomination of Merrick B. Garland to be Attorney General of theUnited States. On Monday, the Committee will vote on this nominationand the full Senate is expected to vote next week.The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairsheld a joint hearing with the Committee on Rules and Administrationentitled: "Examining the January 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol."
