On this week's episode of the Blue View, National President Patrick Yoes sat
down with Reverend Markel Hutchins, a long-time activist, human and civil
rights leader, professional speaker, and a friend to the FOP. National
President Yoes and Reverend Hutchins discuss the importance of developing
strong ties between communities and law enforcement as well as some of
the projects that the Faith & Blue initiative has been working on with the FOP.

National President Patrick Yoes gave numerous media interviews regarding
law enforcement line-of-duty deaths, the increase of violence toward law
enforcement officers across the country, as well as the recruitment and
retention crisis.
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Gautam Raghavan, Director of the
White House Presidential Personnel Office, regarding existing vacancies in
the executive branch.
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Matt Klapper, Chief of Staff to the
Attorney General, regarding violent crime initiatives.
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with U.S. Associate Attorney General
Vanita Gupta regarding the implementation of H.R. 6943, the “Public Safety
Officers Support Act,” which was signed into law by the President. The new
legislation recognizes suicides and attempted suicides as service-connected
and allow for disabled officers and survivor families to submit a death or
disability claim to the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits program.
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Erika Dinkel-Smith, Director for
Labor within the White House Office of Public Engagement, regarding White
House initiatives to combat hate crimes.

Executive Director Jim Pasco gave numerous media interviews regarding
various topics, including the recruitment and retention issue that agencies are
facing nationwide as well as the surge in violent crime.
Executive Director Jim Pasco, National Sergeant-at-Arms Keith Turney, and
Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson participated in a virtual meeting
with officials with the U.S. Department of Labor to have an initial discussion
about apprenticeship programs to address the hiring and recruitment crisis in
law enforcement.
Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson participated in a stakeholder call
led by staff with the National Criminal Justice Association to discuss
programs and partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the
mental health communities.
Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson and Legislative Liaison Matt Brown
participated in a stakeholder call to discuss H.R. 5525, the “Establishing New
Authorities for Business Laundering and Enabling Risks to Security Act,”
which would expand Federal efforts to combat money laundering.

enforcement officer" for salary and retirement benefits to include all Federal law
enforcement officers.
The Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act would recognize the
