Vance (R-OH) to discuss him becoming the Republican lead for the Senatecompanion to H.R. 1322. Jackson (D-NC) to discuss the “PublicEmployer-Employee Cooperation Act,” and H.J. Res. 42, the resolution disapprovingthe D.C. law stripping away certain collective bargaining rights from our membersserving the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. Mr. Jackson votedagainst the resolution later that day.Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson and Legislative Liaison David Taboh metwith representatives of the Orthodox Union and the Jewish Federations of NorthAmerica to discuss the “Protect and Serve Act,” the recruitment/retention crisis inlaw enforcement officers, and security issues in Jewish communities.Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson and Legislative Liaisons Asa Render andDavid Taboh represented the FOP on a stakeholders conference call with officialsat the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to review the Department’s capstonestrategy document entitled the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR).

Mayorkas, the Secretary of theU.S. Department of Homeland Security.The House Committee on Homeland Security held a hearing entitled: "A Review ofthe Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Request for the Department of Homeland Security."Providing testimony at the hearing was Alejandro N. Mayorkas, the Secretary of theU.S. Department of Homeland Security.The House considered and passed H.J. Res 42 on a 229-189 vote. This FOP-supported legislation, which disapproves the adoption of the ComprehensivePolicing and Justice Reform Amendment Act (CPJRAA) by the Washington, D.C.City Council, was transmitted to the Senate for further action.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has not been in Washington D.C. since Februarydue to illness, and, because of her absence, the Democrats do not have a votingmajority on the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, which is impacting its ability toconduct business.
