Biden, Jr.’s veto of H.J. Res. 42, aresolution disapproving the adoption of the Comprehensive Policing and JusticeReform Amendment Act (CPJRAA) by the Washington, D.C. City Council. Theresolution was passed by a bipartisan majority in both chambers, and the NationalFOP is calling on both the House and Senate to override the Presidential veto andsustain the will of the Congress on this matter.The men and women of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)—the ones thatkeep the streets and neighborhoods of the District safe—have made it clear that thelegislation would make the city less safe. Those who live, work, and visit thenation’s capital would pay the price—especially in the areas of the city that are hitthe hardest by the current increase in violent crime. After tough negotiations between President Biden and Speaker KevinO. The Senate returned from a District Work Period to pass H.R. 3746, the "FiscalResponsibility Act," on a 63-36 vote.
