In recent years, the law enforcement profession has been facing a realcrisis in our ability to recruit and retain officers with the abilities, character andintegrity to do a very difficult and increasingly dangerous job. One major factoramong veteran officers is the perception that elected officials and police executivesno longer support, respect, or appreciate the officers serving in their communities.
