@GLFOP @FOPNATIONALNATIONAL FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICEThe House was in recess this week.THIS WEEK IN WASHINGTONTHE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESThe House Committee on Ways and Means held a field hearing in Baton Rouge,Louisiana, entitled, “Social Security’s Disservice to Public Servants: How theWindfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset MistreatGovernment Workers.” The hearing was focused on the negative impact these provisions have on publicemployees and their families as well as H.R. 82, the “Social Security Fairness Act,”which would repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government PensionOffset. The legislation, a top priority of the FOP, currently has 300 cosponsors in theHouse, and 49 have signed onto the Senate version, S. 597. National PresidentPatrick Yoes was among those who provided testimony.The FOP recently uploaded a video on its YouTube page that features thetestimonials of several members who are negatively impacted by the WEP and GPO.Click here to watch the video.
