Mayorkas, Secretary of theU.S. Department of Homeland Security, regarding the implementation of ExecutiveOrder 14074, on Advancing Effective, Accountable Policing and Criminal JusticePractices to Enhance Public Trust and Public Safety, as well as partnerships withHomeland Security Investigations (HSI) to combat the fentanyl epidemic.Executive Director Jim Pasco met with Vanita Gupta, Associate U.S. AttorneyGeneral, to discuss the FOP’s relationship with the Associate’s Office following herdeparture.Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Hugh T. U.S. law enforcement officials andprivate industry leaders testified about the prevalence of organized retail crimesand possible solutions.The House passed H.R. 2670, the “National Defense Authorization Act for FiscalYear 2024,” on a 310-118 vote. The bill, which provides $886 billion to theDepartment of Defense, was sent to the President, who signed it into law. The billalso extends Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act through 19April 2024.The House passed H. Res. 918, which authorizes an impeachment inquiry intoPresident Joseph R.
