THE WEEK OF 10 FEBRUARY 2020 THIS WEEK IN WASHINGTON D C THE U S HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House suspend the rules and passed H R 2932 the Homeland Security for Children Act on a 374 11 vote The legislation would require the Office of Strategy Policy and Plans in the Department of Homeland Security DHS to review and incorporate into DHS policy feedback from organizations representing the needs of children The House suspended the rules and passed H R 3413 the DHS Acquisition Reform Act of 2019 on a 380 4 vote The legislation would amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to provide for certain acquisition authorities for the Under Secretary of Management of DHS The House considered and passed H J Res 79 on a 232183 vote The legislation would remove the deadline for the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment which prohibits discrimination based on sex The amendment was proposed to the states in House Joint Resolution 208 of the 92nd Congress as agreed to in the Senate on March 22 1972 PATRICK YOES National President National Fraternal Order of Police GLFOP GLFOP FOPnational JIM PASCO Executive Director
