U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr and other law enforcement
leaders regarding rank-and-file law enforcement concerns, the
implementation of the President's Executive Order on Safer
Policing for Safer Communities, and the progress of the
Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and the
Administration of Justice.

Special Assistant to the President, regarding the progress of the
Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and the
Administration of Justice, Operation Legend, and the passage
of S. 3607, the "Safeguarding America's First Responders
Act," which would establish a statutory presumption that law
enforcement officers who die or become disabled from COVID-
19 did so in the line of duty .

The Department of Justice announced that Operation
Legend will be expanded to Indianapolis, Indiana.
THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
The Operation is a sustained,
systematic and coordinated
law enforcement initiative in
which Federal law
enforcement agencies work in
conjunction with state and
local law enforcement
officials to fight violent crime.
Attorney General Barr has directed the ATF, FBI, DEA, and
U.S. Marshals Service in Indianapolis to dedicate resources
to Operation Legend to help state and local officials fight
high levels of violent crime, particularly gun violence.
Indianapolis is experiencing a significant increase in violent
crime, with homicides currently up more than 51% and non-
fatal shootings up more than 34%.
