WEEK OF 18 NOVEMBER 2019 LEGISLATIVE NEWS AND ACTIVITY National President Patrick Yoes and Executive Director Jim Pasco attended Attorney General William P Barr s the annual holiday reception National President Yoes had a very positive conversation with Attorney General Barr National President Yoes and Executive Director Pasco met with Tim Shea Senior Counsel to Attorney General William P Barr regarding the newly established Commission on Law Enforcement existing vacancies within the U S Department of Justice DOJ as well as firearms violence along the southwest border of the United States and in Mexico National President Yoes and Executive Director Pasco spoke with Brian A Benczkowski Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division regarding criminal justice programs National President Yoes and Executive Director Pasco had a call with Chad F Wolf Acting Secretary of the U S Department of Homeland Security DHS regarding continued cooperative efforts the commitment of mutual support as well as the shared mission of the DHS and the FOP PATRICK YOES National President National Fraternal Order of Police GLFOP GLFOP FOPnational JIM PASCO Executive Director

WEEK OF 02 DECEMBER 2019 UPDATE FOP PRIORITIES H R 1156 THE LEOSA REFORM ACT This bill would would amend the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act LEOSA which exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from local and State prohibitions on the carriage of concealed firearms to ensure that these officers are able to carry in the same venues as civilian concealed carry permit holders in areas like schools and national parks as well as use public transportation and extends the exemption to magazine capacity and would allow active and retired law enforcement officers to access services at U S post offices Social Security Administration offices or Veterans Affairs facilities 26 House Cosponsors H R 1325 26 0 THE PROTECT AND SERVE ACT This bill would would make it a Federal crime to target a law enforcement officer with an assault that results in seriously bodily harm or death House Cosponsors PATRICK YOES National President 21 16 National Fraternal Order of Police GLFOP GLFOP FOPnational 5 JIM PASCO Executive Director
