The FOP waged a successful campaign insupport ofH. Amdt. 1, the “Corporate Transparency Act andCOUNTER Act," which wouldrequire the Financial CrimesEnforcement Network (FinCEN) to collect beneficial ownershipinformation from corporations and limited liability companies,making it easier for law enforcement to investigate shellcompanies that are profiting from illegal activity. The Houseadopted the amendment to the NDAA on a 336-71 vote. The legislation would direct the Architect of theU.S. Capitol to replace the bust of Roger Brooke Taneywith a bust of Thurgood Marshall and to remove allstatues displayed in the U.S. Capitol of individuals whovoluntarily served theConfederate States of America.THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The amendment would havereimposed severerestrictions on the ability of State and local law enforcementagencies to access vital, defensive equipment through the1033 program administered by the DOD.
