National President Patrick Yoes and Executive Director Jim Pasco met with Edward
A. Kelly, General President of the International Association of Fire Fighters, to
discuss various issues of mutual interest.
Executive Director Jim Pasco and Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson briefed
staff from the Senate Committee on the Judiciary about S. 1306, the “COPS
Reauthorization Act,” and shared with them the importance of the programs
administered by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and the
urgent need for the Committee to favorable report a clean reauthorization.
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Heather J. Fong, Assistant Secretary for
State Local Law Enforcement and Senior Counselor to the Secretary for Law
Enforcement at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, about the Know2Protect
program which is expected to roll out later this month.
Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Hugh T. Clements, Jr., Director of the
Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), about last week’s summit
and discussions about police and community relationships. He also discussed next
