Our annual Day on the Hill will begin with a comprehensive briefing on our top priorities and otherlegislation we support, as well as an update on our relationship with the new Administration. Neguse (D-CO) to discuss legislation to reauthorize the Project SafeNeighborhoods program and other FOP priorities.Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson met with staff in the office of RepresentativeJohn H. Trump’s desk to be signed into law.THIS WEEK IN WASHINGTONTHE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESThe House Committee on Homeland Security held a hearing entitled“Unconstrained Actors: Assessing Global Cyber Threats to the Homeland,” whichexamined cybersecurity threats to the homeland by private sector experts. The House Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing entitled “RestoringImmigration Enforcement in America,” which examined former President Joseph R.Biden, Jr.’s handling of immigration and how the new Administration will addressthe issue.

The Senate voted to advance the nomination of Peter B. Hegseth to be Secretary ofthe U.S. Department of Defense by a vote of 51-49. The Senate is expected toconfirm him later today. The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation held a hearingto examine the Nomination of Sean P. Duffy to be Secretary of Transportation.The Senate Committee on the Budget held a hearing to examine the nomination ofRussell T. Vought to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
