The bill, whichwould provide a lifetime National Recreational Pass for law enforcement officers, nowmoves to the full House floor for consideration.The House considered and passed H.R. 875, the “Jeremy and Angel Seay and SergeantBrandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act” on a vote of 246-160. Thebill would make driving while under the influence grounds for barring a non-U.S. fromadmission into the United States or deporting the individual.The House considered and passed H.R. 275, the “Special Interest Alien Reporting Act” ona vote of 231-182. The bill would require the U.S. Department of Homeland Security topublish on a monthly basis the number of special interest aliens encountered attemptingto unlawfully enter the United States.

The Senate Committee on Appropriations held a hearing entitled “A Review of thePresident’s Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Request for the Department of Justice.” U.S.Attorney General Pamela J. Bondi testified.The Senate Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing entitled “The Thin Blue LineProtecting America from the Cartels.” Witnesses were from the Drug EnforcementAdministration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Federal Bureau ofInvestigation (FBI).The Senate Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing on the nomination of Emil J. BoveIII to serve as a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.The Senate confirmed Kenneth Kies to serve as Assistant Secretary of the U.S.Department of the Treasury on a 53-45 vote.
