The House considered and passed H.R. 8752, the “Department of HomelandSecurity Appropriations Act,” on a 212 - 203 vote. The bill would provide over$94.4 billion in discretionary spending for the Department, which includes:$18.8 billion for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (-6% from FY24)$112 million for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (-60% from FY24)$11.5 billion for the U.S. Coast Guard and Transportation SecurityAdministration (+9% from FY24)$10.5 billion for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (+10% from FY24) $1.4 billion for the construction of border barriers (+64% from FY24) $22.7 billion for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (+12% fromFY24)$367 million for the DHS Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (-3% fromFY24) The House considered and passed H.R.8771, the “Department of State, ForeignOperations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act,” on a 212 - 200 vote, whichwould allocate over $58 billion in funding for the Department of State and U.S.Agency for International Development. The House The House Committee on Appropriations’ Subcommittee onCommerce-Justice-Science (CJS) voted to favorably report H.R. 2833, the“Pretrial Release Reporting Act,” on a 15-7 vote. The full Appropriations Committeeis scheduled to consider the draft on 9 July.
