This was the first large charter flightsince 2018 and was conducted in close coordination with theNational Immigration Administration of the PRC.DHS Conducts Removal Flight to ChinaPublic Safety Officer Medal of ValorNominationsCreated in 2001 by Congress, the Public Safety Officer Medal ofValor recognizes extraordinary acts of heroism and bravery onthe part of our nation's public safety officers. The Public SafetyOfficer Medal of Valor nomination submission period is openfrom May 31, 2024, until 5 p.m. ET on July 31, 2024.FOP Monthly Update: Officers Shot and KilledThe National Fraternal Order of Police regrets to report that as ofmidnight on 30 June there have been 193 officers shot in the lineof duty so far in 2024. Of those officers shot, 22 of them werekilled. The year with the highest number of officers shot throughthis date was 2023, when 196 officers were shot through thefirst six months of that year.H.R. 8918, the “Cooper Davis and Devin NorringAct.”National President Patrick Yoes sent a letter to RepresentativesCraig and Miller-Meeks in support of H.R. 8918, the “CooperDavis and Devin Norring Act.”
