THE WEEK OF 16 MARCH 2020 LEGISLATIVE NEWS AND ACTIVITY Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Jack A Rauch Deputy Associate Director with the White House Office of Public Liaison regarding the Administration s activities to combat the Coronavirus Executive Director Jim Pasco spoke with Tim Shea who was recently appointed as Interim U S Attorney for the District of Columbia by Attorney General William P Barr regarding the Coronavirus and the Department of Justice s DOJ positions with respect to the FOP s priorities Executive Director Pasco spoke with Dean M Kueter Jr Executive Director of the Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice regarding rescheduling issues Senior Legislative Liaison Richardson participated in a conference call between law enforcement organization stakeholders and staff with the Senate Committee on Appropriations to discuss the pending appropriations process FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE GLFOP GLFOP FOPnational

THE WEEK OF 16 MARCH 2020 NATIONAL FOP COVID 19 ACTIVITY 13 March President Donald J Trump flanked by business and health leaders declared a National Emergency in response to the COVID 19 epidemic This declaration expands the powers of certain Federal officials and allows for Federal monies to assist local and State response including law enforcement to the virus Executive Director Jim Pasco was in constant contact with the White House and the Administration about this issue specifically and about the role of local and State law enforcement You can see the declaration by CLICKING HERE 13 March National President Patrick Yoes National Auxiliary President Linda Hennie and Memorial Committee Co Chairman Andy Maybo participated in a teleconference regarding the forecasted impact of the Coronavirus COVID 19 to Police Week May 9th through May 16th While it is impossible to predict what the status of the virus will be two months from now we are all keeping a close eye on the situation At this time there are no immediate plans to cancel events of National Police Week 2020 in Washington D C FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE GLFOP GLFOP FOPnational
