The bill, which is anFOP priority, would reauthorize grants that fund law enforcement family-supportservices, suicide-prevention programs, and mental health services for lawenforcement officers. The bill now goes to the House for further action.The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee and the SenateCommittee on the Judiciary held a joint hearing entitled “A joint hearing to examinethe security failures leading to the assassination attempt on former PresidentTrump.” Ronald L. Rowe, Jr., Acting Director of the U.S. Secret Service, and PaulAbbate, Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, testified.The Senate considered, amended, and passed S. 4199, the “Judicial UnderstaffingDelays Getting Emergencies Solved (JUDGES) Act,” by unanimous consent. The billwill be transmitted to the House for further action.S. 597, the “Social Security Fairness Act,” has reached 62 cosponsors in the Senateafter Senators Richard L. Scott (R-FL) and John N.
